“There is a short history and a long history of food design. The longer history begins when, instead of eating sausage wearing gloves, it was decided it would be a better idea to place the sausage in a long roll of bread: an extremely useful tool for this purpose, which also happens to be edible. On the other hand, the short history begins when this kind of act becomes reflexive and deliberately incorporated in traditional design”.
The designer Martí Guixé and architect and critic Beppe Finessi will be debating the history (long and short) of food design at «Mangia come vivi» (Eat how you live), an event being promoted by Agape for the 19th edition of the Festivaletteratura in Mantova (9th – 13th September).
