Il Gattopardo – Lampedusa e Linosa

The intervention by More, dedicated to the restyling of the historic hotel Il Gattopardo di Lampedusa, was born from the desire of the owners, Sandra and Mario, to create a relaxed and domestic atmosphere for their guests. The project developed by More wanted to respect the authentic and wild nature as well as the history of this island, taking up the colors - those of the sea, the coasts and its land - and the materiality, also recalled in the choice of finishes and fabrics.10 rooms, small apartments one different from the other, obtained from as many dammusi. A palette of light tones in which refined contemporary design objects such as the free-standing Vieques washbasins by Patricia Urquiola alternate with custom-made furnishings commissioned to local workers in wood, metal, resin and straw. A combination, between contemporaneity and nature, which suggests, also thanks to the materials chosen and the use of light.
