hospitality. Capitolo Riviera Hotel in Genoa Nervi — formerly the Astor Hotel — has been transformed through a refined renovation by Parisotto + Formenton Architetti. The project revitalizes a 1970s architectural icon, preserving its original concrete structure and Verezzi stone while introducing 37 new rooms, a pool, spa, and event facilities.

The design emphasizes a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing light, materials, and landscape to merge into a fluid, contemporary experience. Expansive windows frame views of the surrounding park and the Ligurian coastline, bringing the Mediterranean atmosphere directly into the interiors.

Guest rooms are characterized by warm, neutral tones complemented by Douglas fir wood accents and exclusive textiles, creating spaces defined by comfort and understated elegance. In the bathrooms, the Agape Lariana washbasin, Fez 2 taps and Dot Line accessories contribute to an ambience of refined, timeless design.

The result is a harmonious blend of modern sophistication and Mediterranean charm — a renewed destination where architectural heritage meets contemporary hospitality.

Capitolo Riviera Hotel has been shortlisted in the City Hotel category for Elle Decor Italia’s Best of Interiors awards.
